Oktavia Weidmann is admitted to the German bar and works as a part-time Teaching Fellow at Queen Mary University of London. She has significant experience in the field of taxation of derivatives and investment funds. She published the Wolters Kluwer book Taxation of Derivatives in 2015 and writes articles on derivatives taxation. Oktavia acted as a Co-General Reporter for the IFA 2019 Congress in London and wrote the General Report on the Subject 2, Investment funds.

From 2014 to 2018, she acted as a Chief Risk Officer for a small Swiss-based investment management company. In 2018, she moved to Mauritius where she is admitted as a foreign lawyer. Prior to that, she worked in front-office positions of various investment banks as an equity derivatives structurer.

Oktavia holds a PhD and Master of Laws (Taxation) from Queen Mary University of London and a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford.
